Fall back to GitHub-hosted
Moving a job back to GitHub-hosted runners is the same one-line change. Nothing else to undo.
Change the label back
runs-on: ubuntu-latestPush the change. New jobs run on GitHub-hosted runners.
Switch without a commit
Read the label from a repository or organization variable, with GitHub-hosted as the default:
runs-on: ${{ vars.VITKO_RUNS_ON || 'ubuntu-latest' }}Set VITKO_RUNS_ON to vitko-ubuntu-24.04 to use Vitko. To fall back, set it to ubuntu-latest or delete it: new jobs go to GitHub-hosted runners right away, with no commit. Set it back when you’re ready.
What keeps working
- The
vitko-inc/split-testsstep runs all your tests in one step on GitHub-hosted runners, so you don’t need to remove it. - Your logs, secrets and caches stay in GitHub either way.
